Historic Restoration

Historic renovations and restorations require a special knowledge and an extraordinary commitment to recreate what once was. Some renovations may call for us to restore an existing marquee structure or a sign to its original condition.

Other times, we engage in a much deeper process that may include such things as:
  • Consulting historic photos and research
  • Custom recreating original letter styles and colors
  • Considering changes to the existing and surrounding environment
  • Custom fabrication of new pieces that are intended to look and feel like the original
  • Engineering a way to recreate a sign using newer materials and technologies while still achieving the original look
  • Value engineering a way to make the restoration financially feasible for the client
For example, ForSight recently fabricated more than 75 custom architectural chandeliers and light fixtures for the Fox Pomona Theater using a variety of historic photos and other sources. While the original fixtures from the 1930’s were fabricated from steel and frosted glass, ForSight used aluminum and a “frosted” acrylic to recreate the fixtures in a way that mirrored the original fixtures in size, shape, and character – but that was much more functional, lighter and affordable.

From the historic Pasadena City Hall to famous historic theaters such as Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and Fox Pomona, ForSight Creations has provided complete signage, specialty lighting, and scenic restoration services in a variety of contexts.
